Red Bull New York is finalizing a deal to send striker Wiktor Bogacz to Cracovia in Poland on a loan deal with an option to purchase, sources with knowledge of the situation informed amNewYork.

Tomasz Wlodarczyk of Polish outlet Meczyki first reported on the 21-year-old returning to his home nation, where he joins a side that currently sits in fourth in the Ekstraklasa — the country’s top flight.

Bogacz spent just one season with New York after being purchased on a four-year deal from Miedz Legnica. He appeared in 19 matches and contributed one goal, but could not maintain a consistent place in the first team.

That very much seems to be the case heading into the 2026 campaign, as well. Red Bull’s attacking trio up front now includes the dynamic wing duo of new signings Cade Cowell and Jorge Ruvalcaba, with Bundesliga veteran Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting serving as the No. 9 between them.

Choupo-Moting had 17 goals in his debut season with New York last season and will continue to get the lion’s share of starts for the foreseeable future.

A loan back to Poland gives Bogacz the regular playing time he needs for his continued development. He broke into Poland’s U-21 side last year, recording two goals in six appearances.

Bogacz is the latest member of the 2025 Red Bull squad, which missed the playoffs, to depart the club. New head of sport Julian de Guzman parted ways with goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, winger Lewis Morgan, midfielders Peter Stroud and Daniel Edelman, and defenders Sean Nealis, Alexander Hack, and Noah Eile.

Most of those voids have been filled, particularly with the signings of Ruvalcaba and Cowell, but more work is left to be done on the back line. Center-back Robert Voloder and right-back Justin Che have been purchased this winter, but another center-back is needed after Eile was sold to English Championship side Bristol City for a club-record fee.

Sources tell amNewYork that New York is actively pursuing one more center-back.
