Two homeless men got into a violent brawl in SoHo on Thursday afternoon, leaving one individual hospitalized with serious stab wounds, police reported.

According to police sources, the bloody incident occurred near the corner of Prince Street and Broadway, steps away from the entrance to the Prince Street subway station, at approximately 12:10 p.m. on May 15 when two men panhandling got into a verbal dispute.

While it remains unclear exactly what sparked the altercation, cops said the perpetrator stabbed a 38-year-old man in the neck and wrist.

Officers from the 5th Precinct were notified of the attack, and EMS rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated for his wounds and listed in stable condition.

Blood was left on the sidewalk as a crowd of pedestrians pushed by the crime scene.

Police did not immediately have a description of the suspect, who fled the scene on foot. Officers set a perimeter and were actively looking for the stabbing suspect as of Thursday evening.
