What started as a one-time event to feed delegates in NYC during the 1992 Democratic National Convention has now grown into a beloved New York City Tradition.
Now, in its 33rd year, NYC Restaurant Week returns from Jul 21–Aug 17, offering diners the chance to enjoy two-and three-course meals at nearly 600 restaurants across all five boroughs — at fixed prices of $30, $45, or $60.
Participating restaurants opt to serve either lunch, dinner, or both. While Saturdays are off the table, many spots extend their deals to Sundays, offering brunch and dinner specials. Reservations are strongly recommended, as popular places tend to book up quickly. Diners should check with the restaurant for hours of operation and scheduled closures before heading out.
From Michelin-starred hotspots to neighborhood favorites, 2025’s roster has something to satisfy every craving.
Here are just a few of the notable spots taking part this summer:
- Gramercy Tavern is offering a $60 lunch and Sunday brunch
- Momoya SoHo is serving up a $30 lunch and $60 dinner including Sunday brunch and dinner.
- La Pecora Bianca has a $30 lunch and $45 dinner, including Sunday dinner deal
- Dos Cominos is participating with a $30 lunch and Sunday brunch, plus a $45 dinner option — including Sunday night.
- La Mercerie has a $45 lunch and $60 dinner — including Sunday evening.
NYC restaurant week began when The Four Seasons hotel was tasked with entertaining delegates in town for the 1992 Democratic National Convention. The idea was to convince restaurants to offer a deal that no one could turn down.
Restaurants, in turn, saw packed dining rooms and diners loved the chance to experience top-tier dining without the usual price tag. Over the years, the program has grown from a few dozen restaurants to hundreds across the city.
Beyond the dining deals, Restaurant Week plays a meaningful role in supporting New York City’s hospitality industry — especially during the hot summer months. For restaurants, it offers a chance to test new dishes and welcome new customers.
For New Yorkers and tourists, it is a rare chance to experience acclaimed restaurants, diverse cuisines, and multi-course meals at a fraction of the usual price. It serves as a way to bring people together and spark meaningful connection around the table.
“This program is a reminder of what makes dining out in NYC so special; flavor, culture, and the joy of discovering a new spot on a summer evening, all at an incredible value,” said Julie Coker, President and CEO of New York City Tourism + Conventions.
Whether you are looking to revisit a favorite spot or discover a new go-to, NYC Restaurant Week offers a great excuse to explore the city one plate at a time.
With deals running until Aug. 17, there is still plenty of time to snag a reservation and experience the diverse flavors that make New York City dining unforgettable.
