A 42-year-old man was stabbed to death on a Brooklyn street early Sunday morning in what some residents on block claimed was the result of a love triangle.
Police say the man, not identified, was found at about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 12 with “numerous stab wounds to the torso” outside of 2785 West 15th St. in Coney Island.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, law enforcement officials said.
Residents of the block were shocked by the violence. One man said he heard the man who was stabbed was found naked — and was apparently knifed by the husband of a woman who lives nearby. Police could not confirm this information when contacted by amNewYork.
Crime scene investigators were gathering evidence from the home, including a bag of clothing and unspecified genetic evidence. No weapons had been found, police said.
Detectives were also going through video surveillance on the street to get a better picture of who had fled the property.
One resident who declined to be identified said, “It’s been pretty quiet over here lately. There are a lot of cameras around here, so for sure, somebody is going to be caught.”
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
