Coronavirus sinks Billy Joel’s next two shows at Madison Square Garden

After seeing the lights go out on Broadway and the city laid low by the coronavirus outbreak, Madison Square Garden has cancelled Billy Joel’s next two concerts.

MSG Entertainment announced that the “Piano Man’s” planned performances on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, April 10, have been postponed. 

Tickets for the March 19 concert will be valid for the Saturday, Sept. 26, concert at “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” while passes for the April 10 show will be honored for Joel’s concert on Sunday, Oct. 11.

The March 19 show was slated to be Joel’s 120th performance overall, and 74th consecutive monthly performance. at Madison Square Garden. The Long Island legend has played MSG monthly since beginning a residency there in 2014.
