Mariah Carey will return to TV on Wednesday night when the pop star performs publicly for the first time since her New Year’s Eve Times Square debacle, in which poorly functioning earpieces forced her to stop singing and revealed a lip-sync track.
“Going to perform my new song #IDont on Jimmy Kimmel live on Wednesday! See you soon,” the singer, 47, tweeted Monday. The music video for “I Don’t,” featuring rapper YG, premiered Feb. 3 and stars a seductive Carey evidently singing about her breakup with billionaire fiance James Packer: “Said you would always be mine / feeding me nothing but lies. . . . I’m tired of crying / No more tears . . . You had to make it all about you.”
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on WABC/7.
