Panda Express has decided to voluntarily close all of its 11 New York City area locations until further notice in an effort to protect guests and employees from the spread of COVID-19.

Before every location closes, however, the restaurant chain will donate over 300 meals to area hospitals to show support for healthcare workers.

“The health and well-being of our guests, the greater community, and our associates (employees) is our top priority,” according to a statement from Panda Express. “We will take care of our associates, providing pay for those impacted by these temporary store closures.”

Panda Express will donate meals to the Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Lenox Children’s Hospital, Staten Island University Hospital South, Staten Island University Hospital North and LIJ Medical Center as “a small token of our gratitude to our selfless healthcare professionals.”
