That’s the day that Fifth Avenue’s iconic FAO Schwarz store will close it’s toy soldier guarded doors forever.

The oldest toy store in the world has been on Fifth Avenue since 1931, when it resided at 745 Fifth Ave., several decades after the business launched in 1870. In 1986, the store moved once again to its iconic 767 Fifth Avenue store and has made itself home to memories for generations of New Yorkers and tourists alike. ever since.

This marks your last month to stock up on the outrageous, classic and unique playthings and perhaps relive that classic Tom Hanks keyboard scene in ‘Big’.
