Neiman Marcus, or as some call it, Needless Markup (thanks, credit card wielding dads of the world), is scheduled to open in downtown Manhattan in the Hudson Yards (640 W. 28th St.) in fall 2018. While we've known about NYC's first Neiman Marcus for years now, some new details have been released before the big opening only 600+ days from now. Photo Credit: Related The firm has worked on projects for Saks Fifth Avenue, Calvin Klein, Hyatt, Daniel Boulud, Intermix and Salvatore Ferragamo, among others. Photo Credit: Related NM Cafes serving what they call "posh nosh" are staples in many Neiman Marcus stores throughout the country. No chefs or menus are confirmed for the New York City location yet. Neiman Marcus will be a hub for New York Fashion Week. Photo Credit: Related Thomas Woltz are slated to design Hudson Yards' public space and Thomas Heatherwick will design the public art installation. Nearby -- right off the High Line-- will be the Culture Shed, where New York Fashion Week plans to relocate for future seasons. All 28-acres of Hudson Yards will be used creatively. Photo Credit: Related The finished project will feature 17 million square feet of commercial and residential space, approximately 5,000 residences, 14-acres of public open space, a new 750-seat public school and a 200-room Equinox® branded luxury hotel.
