Summertime, and the living is easy — in the Bronx. There’s plenty to do as the temperature soars, from concerts and fireworks at Orchard Beach to a celebration of the rose at the New York Botanical Garden. In mid-June, the borough’s Little Italy will bring back a tradition dear to the hearts of Italian Americans where a handmade tower decorated with saints is paraded through the streets during the Feast of St. Anthony. The summer continues to boil with hot music from salsa trombonist Willie Colón performing at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in August.
