Escape the midtown morning rush and head west to the High Line. Walk south from the entrance at 33rd Street and 10th Avenue to take in a bit of nature and New York culture.
After getting a rare glimpse of both the Hudson and East rivers from the elevated lawn at 23rd Street, descend to street level for a self-guided, totally free gallery tour. Be sure to stop into the Gagosian (555 W 24th St,), Gladstone (515 W. 24th), David Zwirner (533 W. 19th) and Petzel (456 W. 18th) galleries and keep a look out for many more that will likely catch your eye on the walk south.
