Police arrested a Brooklyn man Monday who allegedly killed his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son, authorities said.
Latrell Lewis, 23, who was looking after the toddler for his girlfriend in Brooklyn, called 911 at around noon on Sunday to report that the child was not feeling well.
When cops arrived at the apartment, located on East 68th Street in Bergen Beach, they discovered the toddler unconscious and unresponsive, with bruising to his stomach.
EMS responded and took the child to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner subsequently determined that the child had sustained trauma to his head and body, with the cause of death ruled a homicide.
Lewis was arrested Monday and has been charged with murder.
