A truck burst into flames on Dean Street in Crown Heights Tuesday afternoon, according to the authorities.
Some 40 firefighters in six units rushed to battle the blaze near Schenectady Avenue just before 3 p.m., and the Fire Department deployed a hazmat unit because of potentially dangerous materials inside the burning vehicle, according to a Department spokesman.
The fire didn’t cause any injuries, but smoke eaters were still working to keep the inferno under control around 3:30 p.m., according to the spokesman.
Video posted on Citizen showed the truck ablaze sending dark plumes of smoke into the sky, while onlookers gathered around the scene.
