Detectives arrested two people for their roles in the stabbing of two men during a violent dispute on Sunday in Brooklyn, cops said.
The violence broke out at about 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 12 at the intersection of Bath Avenue and Bay 8th Street in Bath Beach, according to police. Police say the suspects were picked up later that evening and were charged at about 10 a.m. this morning.
Police identified the suspects as Brooklyn’s Pedro Ramos, 37, of 68th Street and Kim Kelly, 25, of 84th Street. Both were being charged with attempted murder of the two men, both still recovering in area hospitals.
The NYPD believes that the stabbing resulted from an ongoing dispute between the victims and attackers over children at a nearby school.
One of the victims, identified at the scene as Peter Tozzi, 43, was stabbed in the neck and chest. He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition.
The second victim — identified by sources as Tozzi’s brother, though his name was not disclosed — was stabbed in the leg, and listed in fair condition at Methodist Hospital.
The double-stabbing happened across the street from Dyker Park, where teenagers were playing soccer during the unseasonably warm weather. Sources said both victims lived on the same block where the stabbing occurred.
According to police, the couple got into a dispute with the victims over matters related to their kids at a nearby school. The suspects were then seen running to their vehicle, retrieving a knife and then running back to attack Tozzi, authorities said.
