Police in Lower Manhattan are looking for the suspect who slashed a straphanger and stole her cellphone in a bloody robbery on Wednesday night.

According to police sources, the attack unfolded aboard a Harlem-bound 3 train near the Wall Street station in the Financial District just after 11 p.m. on Aug. 6.

Law enforcement sources said a male perpetrator approached a 29-year-old woman and demanded her bag. Seconds later, the suspect pulled out a sharp instrument and went on the attack — slicing the woman across her arm, elbow and back.

The slasher then removed her bag, grabbed her cellphone and fled in an unknown direction, police reported.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 20s who was last seen wearing a navy hooded sweater and carrying a grey backpack.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
