A jilted man shot his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend to death in Flatlands, Brooklyn on Sunday, then turned the gun on himself, police reported.

Authorities said the 24-year-old woman, identified by police as Jened Duncan, of that same address, was shot in the head and died at Kings County Hospital, while her ex-boyfriend, 30-year-old Darnell Solomon, died from his head wound at Kings County Medical Center.

Her current boyfriend, who was not identified, suffered chest wounds but was expected to survive. He was not identified by police.

Solomon, apparently opened fire in an apartment on Utica Avenue near Avenue M in Flatlands, first striking his ex-girlfriend Jened Duncan, 24, in the head, according to cops.

According to authorities, the gunman had shot himself inside the Utica Avenue building. The current boyfriend then ran from the scene, only to return moments later to receive medical attention from arriving paramedics — leaving a trail of blood on the street. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital for treatment.

A member of the 63rd Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, smashed a glass window on a door with his hand to enter the second floor apartment, where they found the two victims sprawled out on the floor of the living room. He was treated for a cut to his hand.

Residents and workers in the neighborhood shook their heads as the victims were wheeled to ambulances.

“She was just in my store buying furniture,” said one man who would not be identified. “She seemed nice enough. I just can’t understand it.”

Detectives from the 63rd Precinct were investigating and confirm the dead man was a jealous ex-boyfriend.
