Monday, Oct. 31 marked the first day for ill 9/11 survivors to apply for compensation under the James Zadroga 9/11 Healthcare Act.
“I am pleased to announce that the V.C.F. is now accepting claims applications on its website, www.VCF.gov,” said V.C.F. Special Master Sheila Birnbaum in a personal note to survivors announcing the news. “Users who have registered for the Fund can fill-out an online Eligibility Form that will be used to determine whether you are eligible for compensation through the V.C.F.”
Applicants deemed eligible will be invited to complete another form, which will be used to determine the amount of compensation owed.
