A Dutch treat for Battery Park

This 5,000-square-foot New Amsterdam Plein & Pavilion will appear in Battery Park later this year, a gift from the Dutch to commemorate Henry Hudson’s journey up the Hudson River 400 years ago. The pavilion, designed by Dutch architect Ben van Berkel, is just one aspect of the city’s yearlong celebration of the anniversary, which includes everything from a day of free bike rentals along the waterfront to reduced airline prices for travelers returning from Amsterdam to New York.
