Aiding tsunami victims

Elizabeth Portland, director of development for American Red Cross in Greater New York, left, came to the Penn South co-op in Chelsea on Jan. 21 to accept a check for nearly $20,000 from Irma Lobel, president of the co-op board of directors, and Brendan Keany, Penn South general manager, for victims of the tsunami in South Asia. The 15-building complex has about 3,500 residents, more than half of whom are seniors.
