ANNUAL MEETING:

annualmeeting-2010-04-29_z

Chelsea Waterside Park Association wants you to attend their Annual Meeting — and has stacked the deck with a ringer to draw in the crowds. That ringer? Captain John Doswell, an authority on New York waterways. For years, he’s campaigned for access to the water and for the preservation of ships which used to ply New York’s waterways. Doswell’s presentation will likely have an appropriately activist bent, given that the good Captain founded Friends of Hudson River Park — and is also Executive Director of the Working Harbor Committee.

Also on the agenda: Hudson River Park will give a progress report on the final stage of Chelsea Cove (also known as the western part of Chelsea Waterside Park).

The meeting takes place Wednesday, April 28 at the German Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Paul (315 W. 22nd St., btw. 8th and 9th Aves.). At 6:00 p.m., there’s a reception at which refreshments will be served. At 6:30 p.m., there will be opening remarks followed by the election of officers. Assuming there are no cries for a recount, proceedings will then segue smoothly into the abovementioned presentations (after Robert Trentlyon gives the Annual Report).
