Astronaut Michael Massimino, center, landed at the Fire Museum on Spring St. last week to present a flag he flew in space in honor of the victims of 9/11 to the Fire Dept. Pictured shaking hands with Fire Museum Board of Trustees president John Bower, Massimino was part of a crew on the space shuttle Atlantis that recently repaired the Hubble Space Telescope. Massimino took other New York memorabilia on board including an F.D.N.Y. hat and the home plate from Shea Stadium. His father was chief inspector for the Bureau of Fire Prevention for the F.D.N.Y.
