Autumn poems

Autumn Warning

An epidemic —

Flowers and leaves start coughing,

Birds sublet their homes.

Autumn Dream

I remember

the trees

And

yellow gardens —

The subtle rainbows

cruising across the sky,

and the grass

Waving a million

fingers at

the sun —

I remember you

dancing on leaves

while the winds

played a tune.

Today

I comb the woods

looking for a message

And scream your name

through tall tunnels of trees —

The Spanish moss

stares —

The sun freezes —

And I wash

My hands in Autumn

while lazy birds

mock my

fantasies.
