Artist Miki Katagiri demonstrated her prototype “green” head attire to friends at the Riviera Cafe at Seventh Ave. and Fourth St. last Thursday evening. Those sharing her table nicknamed the grassy green skullcap a yarmulchia — as in yarmulke and chia pet — or a new age yarmulke. A woman passing by wanted to buy one on the spot for a friend turning 40. Miki gave her a card, noting they can be made to order and that people can grow their own if they like.
