Police released surveillance footage of two cars they believe are connected to a shooting that injured a woman bystander in Coney Island, the NYPD said.
A 57-year-old woman was at the corner of West 33rd Street and Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island on Thursday around 7:30 p.m. when she was grazed in the cheek by a bullet, police said.
The surveillance video, obtained from an MTA bus that was near the scene of the shooting and released Saturday, shows a blue sport utility vehicle and a silver Mercedes-Benz. According to police, one man exited the blue SUV and two other men exited the silver Mercedes-Benz. One of the men from the silver car fired a gun at the man from the blue car, cops said.
Police said it is not clear whether the male who was fired at returned fire, but they do not believe that the woman who was hit by the bullet was an intended target of the shooter.
The woman was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in Sunset Park for treatment, the NYPD said.
