Cops seek crook who attacked and robbed a woman on a Brooklyn street

The NYPD is searching for a suspect who assaulted and robbed a woman in Brooklyn last month.

According to police, at 7:19 a.m. on Sept. 23 a 65-year-old woman was in the vicinity of Rodney Street and Division Avenue in Williamsburg when an unknown man approached her from behind. He then proceeded to hit the victim with an unknown blunt object in her back and the back of her head and forcibly took her purse.

The suspect fled the location, but ultimately dropped the purse because he was being chased by bystanders. The victim was removed to Woodhull Hospital with a minor laceration to her head.
