The June 8-14 article, “Tenants say developer is using legal loophole to give them the boot” incorrectly stated that Susan Barry was being asked to leave 333 Rector Pl. in 60 days because of a 60-day vacate clause in her lease. Barry’s lease was expiring naturally in 60 days and was not being renewed because she did not sign the lease extension — she said that was because she could not afford the rent increase. The article also incorrectly stated that tenants with 60-day vacate clauses were being asked to pay higher rents to remain in the building. Only tenants with expired leases have been forced to pay higher rents to extend their lease terms.
