Crisp and Clean in Black and White

globe-2010-06-29_z

Decades ago, he roamed the streets of Greenwich Village, oozing a flamboyant vibe that demanded attention. That was decades after roaming the streets of his native England, where the attention was far less flattering. Now gone but never forgotten, Quentin Crisp is still pulling gays and straights alike into his uncompromisingly fabulous orbit. “Quentin Crisp in Black and White” is a photo exhibit featuring Martin Fishman’s compelling portraits of the man who penned “The Naked Civil Servant” and put some lolly in his pocket by posing nude for art students. Discover, or rediscover, him through June 30 at Broadway Gallery (473 Broadway, 7th Floor). For information, call 212-274-8993 or visit www.broadwaygallerynyc.com.
