Postal worker hits and kills woman in Brooklyn

A woman was fatally hit by a postal worker who was driving the mail truck in Bedford Stuyvesant early Tuesday, police said.

The woman, 52-year-old Dorria Campfield, laid down on Fulton Street, near the intersection of Rockaway Avenue, just before 5 a.m. when she was hit by a 66-year-old postal worker.

Campfield, who was from the Bronx, was taken to Interfaith Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The postal worker remained at the scene.

Correction: The story originally stated that Campfield was walking when hit. She had actually been laying in the street, according to police.
