Hungry opening

After cutting the ribbon to open the new Hunger Action Center in Battery Park City last Thurs., Oct. 16, Gov. David Paterson greets David Dames, 11, a sixth-grader from M.S. 378, a Lower East Side middle school. International relief organization MercyCorps opened the hunger museum in the Riverhouse condo building to get visitors and locals involved in fighting hunger and poverty around the world. Edwin Schlossberg of ESI Design, which designed the center, also attended the ribbon-cutting with his wife Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg.
