To the editor,
Re “W.T.C. Cross finds its way home” (news article by John Bayles, July 27)

In John Bayles’ front-page article “W.T.C. Cross finds its way home,” he does not mention that it is unconstitutional to place one particular religious symbol on public property, as it violates the separation of church and state. Bayles seems to approve of putting the cross up, showing a blessing by Father Brian Jordan and Rudy Giuliani.

Also, in the letter by Aviva Cantor, “Return the Cats,” it states she is Vice President of Concern for Helping Animals in Israel. There seems to be no concern for the oppression of Palestinians in the occupied Bantustans of Gaza and the West Bank.
