Fun run Downtown

The warm, sunny weather Sunday morning made it a good day to run a half-marathon — at least for the 11,494 people who made it to the finish line at Chambers and West Sts. The fifth annual race, sponsored by the New York Road Runners, started in Central Park at 7 a.m. Just under an hour later, Peter Kamais, 33, crossed the finish line first at 59:53, missing a record-breaking time by just 29 seconds. Mara Yamauchi, 36, won the women’s race with a record-setting time of 1:09:25.
