12-strong male and female gang rob, humiliate victim in Chinatown

209-21 Robbery 5 Pct 01-22-21 VIDEO (1).mp4

A 12-strong gang of male and female criminals robbed and assaulted a lone individual in the vicinity of Canal Street and Allen Street on Friday Jan 22.

The group was made up of 12 dark-skinned male and female individuals, and the motivation for the attack remains unknown.

The victim, a 26-year-old male, suffered lacerations to his head, torso and hands, inflicted with an as-yet unknown object.

Cruelly, the assailants removed the victim’s cell phone, pants, underwear and shoes, in this broad daylight, 11:30 a.m. attack. One silver-lining is that the daylight conditions have afforded the NYPD clear images of some of the robbers involved, as well as a video of this outnumbered victim being pushed to the ground, encircled and beaten.

The group of criminals disbanded, fleeing the scene in multiple vehicles while the victim was removed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue and is in stable condition.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
