School thefts
A 16-year-old boy was charged with stealing a cell phone from a student, 14, of the High School of Economics and Finance, 100 Trinity Pl. at 1 p.m. Tues., April 28. The suspect’s name was withheld by police because of his age.
A Brooklyn woman working at Borough of Manhattan Community College, 199 Chambers St., told police someone stole her bag from under her desk where she placed it at 11 a.m. Tues., April 28. The bag had her visa, debit card, driver’s license and car registration as well as five dollars cash.
Construction site case
The manager of a construction site in 75 Wall St. told police on Monday morning April 27 that a control box attached to a forklift at the location had been stolen. The device, valued at $1,500, was last seen on Friday. It had been attached to the forklift by wires that the thief had cut, police said.
Out of luck
An unidentified shoplifter, probably with an accomplice, made off with 26 pairs of Lucky Brand jeans from the Lucky Brand boutique at 38 Greene St. at Grand St. on April 25, police said. The theft, valued at $4,160, was not noticed until after closing when the store was being cleaned and the shelves and counters restocked.
