Hermine is moving north near the East Coast after making landfall as a Category 1 hurricane in Florida on Friday, Sept. 2.
It weakened to a tropical storm as it moved toward the coasts of Georgia and the Carolinas late Friday, the National Hurricane Center said.
The storm is expected to cause strong rip currents and possible flooding in coastal areas along New York’s coast through Wednesday.
