Man with slash marks found dead in Greenwich Village train station: NYPD

Police are investigating the death of a man who was found with cuts on his body at a Greenwich Village subway station.

Authorities say that at 12:12 a.m. on Dec. 8, officers from the 6th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious man at the W 4 St-Washington Square Park station. Upon their arrival, officers found the victim near the stairwell ramp area, off the platform, unconscious and unresponsive with lacerations to the torso.

Paramedics rushed to the location and declared the victim, who has yet to be identified, dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
