New York University and Village Care are hosting their Second Annual “Take Charge of Your Health Today” Free Health Forum on Tuesday, May 14th, from 5-8pm. The event will take place at the NYU Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life, at 238 Thompson Street (5th floor). At 5pm, an expo with information on health resources will open the event. This forum will highlight important current health issues in today’s complex environment. Dr. Max Gomez, the award-winning popular medical TV reporter for CBS, will moderate a panel discussion. This year, the forum has added some new components, such as information on legal aspects (including living wills and health proxies) and how to reach out to your financial institution in order to make the right choices.
Elizabeth Butson, board member of Village Care and chair of the health forum, notes the importance of knowing “the seven questions you need to know to ask your primary doctor, and the importance of building, step-by-step, your goals — in order to achieve a positive change in your quality of life. The stress of legal and financial needs when facing long illness requires planning and information. We have excellent panelists who will discuss these needs and take questions from the audience.”
