Milk: It does a golfer good

Photographer Patrick Barr — “Call me Tiger Hood,” he said — was recently teeing off on a line of milk cartons at Mulberry and Prince Sts. Barr has been displaying his photos of curious city sights for three years at the spot, in front of McNally Jackson Books. Previously, he displayed them for 10 years in front of the Blue Note. One day, he said, he found a golf club in the trash and practiced hitting tennis balls. Now he hits milk cartons stuffed with newspaper, always waiting for his “driving range” to be clear of cars and pedestrians. He said hitting the “links” helps him to socialize with others on the street. Barr said he’s looking forward to starting a neighborhood golf association.
