After being paused due to the pandemic, Bryant Park’s iconic Movie Night series is returning this summer for its 27th season.
A New York City staple, the series will feature movies on the Bryant Park lawn beginning at sunset, every Monday and Tuesday, from Aug. 23 through Sept. 28.
“We are thrilled to welcome back the beloved Bryant Park Movie Nights with a renewed appreciation for community,” said Dan Biederman, President of the Bryant Park Corporation. “There is really nothing like watching a film on a big screen under the stars with thousands of new friends.”
In collaboration with New York Magazine’s entertainment site, Vulture, the series will feature ten movies on the big screen. These include Moulin Rouge!, with Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, Phantom of the Opera, starring Gerard Butler, and Mrs. Doubtfire, with Robin Williams and Sally Field. These will play on Sept. 14, Sept. 27, and Sept. 28, respectively.
As part of the partnership with New York Magazine, subscribers were able to vote for the film to open the series. They chose Clueless, a 1995 high school comedy starring Alicia Silverstone. The series will kick off with that film on Aug. 23, with more films to be announced as the series continues.
