NYC TV snares local Emmy nods

New York City TV received a total of 48 New York Emmy nominations in early February, setting a new personal record and placing second behind M.S.G. Network’s 50 nominations.

NYC TV, which is housed in the Municipal Building in Lower Manhattan, is nominated in 28 different categories such as entertainment program special and historical/ cultural program feature. It also claimed all four nominations for best on camera talent: performer/ narrator.

Timi Lewis, director of corporate affairs at NYC TV, predicted the channel would win at least 22 New York Emmys at the award ceremony on April 6 at the New York Marriot Marquis.

To celebrate the nominations, NYC TV held an orange carpet event at the Bubble Lounge in Tribeca Monday.

Emmy-nominated entertainment programs for NYC TV include “Secrets of New York—TriBeCa: Mysteries of New York’s Backlot Revealed,” and “Eat out New York: Brooklyn Restaurants.”

At last year’s New York Emmy Awards, NYC TV was nominated for 34 Emmys and received 7.
