The Thomas Jefferson wasn’t just admiring the view of Rockefeller Park as it went up and down the Hudson Tuesday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration vessel
was collecting information to update the nautical charts for New York waterways, said Lt. Jesse Stark, chief of operations for the N.O.A.A., a division of the Department of Commerce. The N.O.A.A. periodically charts the waterways to look for new obstructions to boat traffic.
