Arrest in shooting

Police arrested Wilfred Santos, 24, and Randy Ramkishun, 17, on Mon. July 30 in connection with the July 8 shooting that injured a 13-year-old girl at 71 Columbia St. in the Samuel Gompers Houses. The suspects, residents of the Gompers complex, were charged with attempted murder. Police are also investigating the July 22 shooting at 100 Pitt St. in the Gompers complex in which a 10-year-old boy was injured.

Knifepoint robbery

A robber stopped two men walking on State St. near Whitehall St. at 11 p.m. Tues. July 31, pulled a knife and said, “Give me your bag,” police said. He took a shoulder bag that had $400 in cash, an iPod and a camera from one victim and fled Uptown.

Mugged Downtown

A man walking on Fulton St. at the corner of Water St. at 11 p.m. Fri. July 27 was knocked to the ground from behind by a thief who took his backpack with his Mexican passport and CD player, police said. The thief fled west on Fulton St. and the victim could not give a description.

Out of tune

Burglars broke the glass front of a boutique at 133 Mercer St. between Spring and Prince Sts. and entered the place during the early hours of Tues. July 31 making off with two Gibson Les Paul guitars valued at $3,000 each, police said.

Auto theft

A man who parked his gray 2003 Dodge Ram at 8 p.m. Sat. July 28 in front of his residence at 140 Greene St. between Prince and Houston Sts. found it was gone on Sunday morning July 29, police said.

Pizza break-in

Burglars forced up the metal gate and popped the lock on the front door of Underground Pizza at 2a William St. and took the shop’s stereo system and about $150 from the cash register sometime between 7 p.m. Fri. July 27 and 8 a.m. Mon. July 30, police said.

Under the table

A woman patron of Café Duke, 545 Broadway between Prince and Spring Sts., left her bag under her table at 3:20 p.m. Fri. July 27 and realized it had been stolen when she was ready to leave, police said. In the bag was $360 in cash, credit cards and an iPod.

Bank note

A man walked into the Chase Bank branch at 253 Broadway between Park Pl. and Murray St. at 9:15 a.m. Thurs. Aug. 2, and passed a note to a teller demanding money in $10 bills, police said. The robber — described as a black man, thin build, 5’9” between 30 and 40 years old — took a stack of bills totaling $677 and fled.

Assault arrest

Police arrested a woman in front of 43 Park Pl. at 5:15 p.m. Fri Aug. 3, charging that she punched a man, broke his glasses and took his bottle of water. The suspect, Larissa Johnson, 37, was charged with assault and larceny.

Canal accident

A Queens man was injured on Thursday morning Aug. 2 when he tripped at the curb on Broadway and Canal St. and fell into the windshield of a moving police car. The victim was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in critical condition with head injuries.
