Police blotter
Shot in robbery try
Two men who hailed a cab at E. 142nd St. and Third Ave. in the Bronx and got out at their destination at E. Houston St. and Baruch Pl. at 4:20 a.m. Fri., Feb 27, stuck a gun in the driver’s face and demanded money, police said. The driver, Henry Bonsu, 36, of Brooklyn, refused and the robber fired three shots, one of which hit Bonsu in the wrist, police said. The robbers fled on foot without taking anything and Bonsu ran a short distance before calling police on his cell phone. He was taken to Bellevue in stable condition.
Jewelry holdup
Two men, one wielding a handgun, walked into a jewelry story at 70 Pine St. at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, bound the two owners with duct tape and fled with an unspecified amount of merchandise, police said.
Store break-in
A burglar cut the security gate locks of a photo shop at 381 Broadway at the corner of White St., and forced open the front door sometime before the place opened on Friday morning Feb. 27, police said. The thief made off with $12,000 worth of cameras and equipment.
Subway dip
A woman told police that a pickpocket who bumped into her on Friday afternoon Feb. 27 in the N/R subway station at Whitehall St. removed her wallet with $75, several credit cards and personal papers from her bag.
Cell phone gone
A thief who was working the corner of Murray and Church Sts. around 3 a.m. Sun. Feb. 29 took a cell phone from a pedestrian’s pocket, police said.
Seaport shoplifter
An unknown thief took several cell phones from a display case in store at 89 South St. at the corner of John St. in the Seaport around 1 p.m. Sun. Feb. 29, police said.
Soho bank job
A man walked into the J.P. Morgan Chase branch at 525 Broadway at the corner of Spring St. at 4 p.m. Fri. Feb. 20, passed a note to a teller demanding money and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
Seward High assault
A student at Seward Park High School, 350 Grand St., was arrested Mon. March 1 and charged with assaulting a school safety officer, police said. The safety officer responded to a report that a student was breaking glass on the top floor of the school. Police said the student butted the safety officer with his head when the officer tried to stop him. The suspect was charged with assault and possession of a weapon, a box cutter, police said.
Stabbed boyfriend
A woman stabbed her boyfriend in the left arm on Saturday morning Feb. 27 during an argument in front of a homeless shelter at 128 Baruch Pl. south of E. Houston St., police said. The friend refused medical attention and declined to press charges but police disarmed the woman and charged her with assault.
D.O.A. Orchard St.
Mary Goings, 27, was found dead in her apartment at 139 Orchard St. by her roommate at 12:30 a.m. Mon., March 1, police said. The Medical Examiner’s office is investigating the cause of death.
