Subway gun robbery
A man wielding a handgun held up a woman on the southbound platform of the C, E station at Spring St. and Sixth Ave. at about 8 p.m. Tues. Dec. 28, police said. The victim, 24, told police that the robber, described only as a black man, said, “Give me the ring or I will shoot you.” She gave up the ring that she wore and the robber fled, police said.
Posh shoplift attempt
A man who tried to steal clothing from the Abercrombie & Fitch store at 199 Water St. in the South St. Seaport Plaza at 6:30 p.m. Tues. Dec. 28 struggled with security guards who tried to stop him, police said. The suspect broke free and fled. An Abercrombie manager did not return a call for comment.
Office theft
A female employee of FEGS, the health and social services agency at 80 Vandam St. on the east side of Hudson St., told police that she had left her cell phone on her desk on Tuesday morning Dec. 28 and when she returned later that morning at 10:30 a.m. it was gone.
Pocketbook picked
A pickpocket dipped into the bag of a woman walking past the corner of King and Varick Sts. at about 11 a.m. Wed. Dec. 22 and removed $200 in cash, credit cards and other personal documents, police said. The victim told police the thief bumped her but she was unable to see who it was.
