Marking the 25th anniversary of the AIDS pandemic, The Rally will observe this sad occasion by displaying a panel from the AIDS Quilt. Runners from the International Rainbow Memorial Run will make the park a stop on their journey from San Francisco to the Gay Games in Chicago. They will circle the Bryant Park lawn, then pause for a moment of silence. Also appearing along with emcee ANT and house band Shimmerplanet will be Ari Gold, The DIVAs, Matt Foreman, Rubberlegs, Sister Funk and Steven Brinberg a.k.a. Simply Barbra.

AIDS Candlelight Vigil

Procession starts at Sheridan Square. A banner and wreath are carried down Christopher St. as supporters of those struggling with H.I.V./AIDS and friends, family members and loved ones of those who have died from AIDS carry lit candles in a quiet march to the waterfront, where the wreath will be tossed into the river.
