Police are investigating Friday afternoon’s double shooting in Queens as a potential murder-suicide, according to authorities.

Police from the 103rd Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding two aided individuals inside of 109-64 14rd St. in South Jamaica at approximately 2:45 p.m. on March 22. Upon their arrival, officers found 35-year-old Kenisa Mirrison and 38-year-old Joseph Murphy — who both lived at the location — unconscious with gunshot wounds to their heads. EMS arrived and declared both Murphy and Mirrison dead at the scene.

A firearm was recovered at the scene near Joseph’s body, according to authorities.

A police spokesperson on Saturday morning told amNewYork that the two victims were involved a relationship. The spokesperson said the NYPD is investigating the shooting as a potential murder-suicide, but could not offer any details regarding a motive behind the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
