A man was shot on a subway platform in Forest Hills, Queens, on Friday, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The victim was shot in the leg inside the 75th Avenue-Queens Boulevard station, which serves the E and F lines, around 11:50 a.m., according to police. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and was expected to survive, the spokeswoman said.

Police are searching for two suspects who ran from the station in an unknown direction, according to the spokeswoman. Officers were seen canvassing nearby businesses for possible surveillance images of the suspects.

AJ Patel, who works at the Shanvi Convenience & Grocery, said police looked through his surveillance footage but it didn’t capture the suspects. He said although shootings are uncommon for the area, the subway station could use more lighting.

"The subway station is too dark. … It always makes me nervous," Patel added.

F trains were skipping 75th Avenue in both directions for several hours as the NYPD investigated the shooting, according to the MTA. Regular service resumed around 4 p.m.

Mohammad Islam works at a bagel store outside the far east entrance to the station and expressed concern about the brazen daylight shooting.

“This hurts our business because it happened right outside our door,” he added. “This isn’t safe. It could have hurt anyone.”

A dispute preceded the shooting on Friday but the motive remains unclear and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Last month, a man was fatally shot on a 7 train platform at the 90th Street-Elmhurst Avenue station in Queens.

Police later charged three men in the shooting, which they said was related to gang activity. The victim, 20-year-old Abel Mosso, was an alleged member of the 18th Street gang, according to police. Suspected gunman Ramiro Gutierrez is believed to be an MS-13 member.
