Scene
Lauren Giaccone, a Pace University junior, held a candle and sign in Union Square Friday night at a vigil marking the anniversaries of the Chicago Haymarket labor massacre of 1886 and the killing of four antiwar students at Kent State in 1970, both of which occurred on May 4. There were readings of the words of the Haymarket labor activists, Malcolm X, Joe Hill, Martin Luther King Jr. and others. Organizers included the Pace University chapter of Students for a Democratic Society.
