Taking it to the street

Fifty-seven people were arrested last Thursday in peaceful civil disobedience protest over New York University’s refusal to recognize or negotiate with the Graduate Student Organizing Committee, N.Y.U.’s graduate students union. Union members and supporters sat down in the intersection of Fifth Ave. and Washington Sq. N., blocking traffic. Forty-three union members and 14 supporters were arrested.
