The culinary fair, Taste of Tribeca, will hold its 11th annual celebration on Saturday, May 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Duane St. between Greenwich and Hudson. The event is a benefit for public schools P.S. 234 and P.S. 150 to aid in the continuation of their arts and enrichment programs.
“The Taste brings the neighborhood outside to revel in the bounty of the local restaurants, to mingle with each other in support of the local schools,” wrote Sandy Bridges, principal of P.S. 234, in this year’s event and chef guide, which was published this year by Taste and Downtown Express.
The event includes raffles, live entertainment and the kid zone, which will offer arts and crafts for children.
In the past proceeds have helped the schools collaborate with Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art and purchase music and science equipment, and additional library books.
Guests can purchase tasting cards for $40 in advance or $45 the day of for six tastings from participating restaurants. Advance tickets also include a 10 percent coupon valid at 41 Taste of Tribeca restaurants. Dishes from over 60 restaurants including Bouley, Thalassa, the Harrison, 66 and Odeon will be available.
