On Sunday, a rally calling for a new Greenwich Village hospital drew a vocal crowd 300 to 400 people to the former St. Vincent’s Hospital site on Seventh Ave. at 12th St. From left, among those at the demonstration were Timothy Lunceford, Toni Zobherafalaih, Jonathan Slaff and Mel Stevens. The event was billed as “100 Days Without a Hospital,” but in fact it had been about 170 days since St. Vincent’s closed on April 30. (How about: “Half a Year Without a Hospital”?) Anyway one looks at it, though, the loss of St. Vincent’s continues to be felt deeply. See Editorial.
